Make a Call: Restore federal bargaining rights now
Ask your representatives to support the Protect America’s Workforce Act - pass bipartisan legislation to stop the Trump EO that seeks to end bargaining rights for federal workers.
On April 1, Reps. Jared Golden (D-ME) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) introduced a bipartisan bill in Congress that would nullify Trump’s executive order stripping the right to collectively bargain from hundreds of thousands of federal employees. It’s time for Congress to hear from supporters of working people on a bill that will help working people across the country.

Tell Congress: No Cuts to Medicaid in Budget Reconciliation Bill
Email Congress to urge lawmakers to oppose cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicaid, which provides health coverage to 1 in 5 Americans.
Cutting Medicaid would force states, cities, towns and schools to slash critical public services and jobs.
The proposed cuts to Medicaid, which provides health insurance to 80 million low-income Americans, including 38 million children and 13 million seniors and people with disabilities, will leave hospitals, clinics, and the health system without a key pillar of funding.
Medicaid is even more critical for rural and small-town America, where many working people and their dependents do not have employer-sponsored healthcare.
As part of a budget reconciliation bill to extend tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and corporations, the House Energy and Commerce Committee has instructions to find $880 billion in cuts, which would primarily come from massive cuts to Medicaid — CONGRESS NEEDS TO FUND HEALTH CARE, NOT BILLIONAIRE TAX CUTS
See the Center for American Progress’ map of where Americans who are covered by Medicaid live.

Tell Congress: Do Not Cut Federal Employees' Retirement Security & Health Insurance Benefits in Budget Reconciliation Bill
Email your Representative and Senators. Tell Congress to oppose any cuts or "reforms" to earned federal employment benefits, including changes to the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) and Federal Employees Health Benefit Program (FEHB), as a cost offset for budget reconciliation legislation.
Congressional Republicans are considering cutting $50 billion or more in federal employee benefits over the next ten years, including cuts to FERS and FEHB, to help offset a small portion of $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthy and for corporations. These spending cuts and tax cuts are being considered as part of the Republican budget reconciliation bill that extends the 2017 Trump tax cuts.
Protecting federal employee compensation, retirement, and health care will preserve the government’s ability to recruit and retain the best talent America has to offer to address the challenges our nation faces, support our national security and economic prosperity, provide the American people with high-quality services, and keep our communities safe.

Bring Home SMART Union Local 100 Brother Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia and Give Him Due Process
The International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), an AFL-CIO-affiliated union, asks union members and working people to contact their Members of Congress to ask lawmakers to support the Supreme Court’s order to bring SMART Local 100 union apprentice Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia back to the United States.
Kilmar is a legally protected Maryland resident who was mistakenly deported without due process and is being detained at a maximum security prison in El Salvador.
Kilmar fled El Salvador after enduring threats and extortion from the violent Barrio 18 gang. These threats were so severe that a U.S. immigration judge granted him legal protection in 2019.
This egregious violation of our brother’s rights has been acknowledged by federal courts and even the U.S. government, which admits his removal was an “administrative error.” However, Kilmar remains in custody overseas, and the federal government has failed to take action to bring him home, even contesting a court order to do so.

Tell Congress: Don’t Threaten Our Jobs and Communities — VOTE NO ON H.R. 32 - The No Bailouts for Sanctuary Cities Act
Call your lawmakers. Tell your member of Congress to vote NO on H.R. 32.
The No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities Act is about scaring communities into adopting extremist anti-immigrant, anti-worker policies and cutting essential programs for working families—all to pay for billionaire tax cuts.
This bill would strip away critical funding for education programs, community hospitals, food banks, disaster relief, transportation and health care. This would hurt all of us and lead to massive job losses.
In addition to putting jobs and vital programs at risk, this bill would undermine sensible law enforcement strategies proven to promote safer and healthier communities for all.
