AALJ Meets in Washington, DC
The Association of Administration Law Judges (AALJ/IFPTE Judicial Council 1), held its hybrid meeting in Washington, DC.
The meeting, chaired by AALJ President Judge Som Ramrup, focused on the internal business of the union, while also including discussions on bargaining, representational, legislative and communications plans moving forward. Judge Ramrup commented that, “this week’s meetings were a great opportunity for us to come together and map out our plans to address the major issues impacting AALJ members at the bargaining table, and in the policy and legislative arenas.
We thank former AALJ president, Judge Marilyn Zahm, for joining us on Thursday and sharing her vast experience and expertise with us, and to the IFPTE officers and staff for also working with us on a blueprint for our legislative agenda.”
President Matt Biggs, who attended the meeting on Wednesday, commented that, “under the leadership of Judge Ramrup and the AALJ, we have little doubt that the union will deliver on the key matters facing the AALJ membership. As we imparted during our visit, IFPTE is honored to provide to Judge Ramrup and her team our full support and union Solidarity that comes along with it.” Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson, and legislative director, Faraz Khan, also had an opportunity to meet with the AALJ’s at the socially distanced meeting.
