Bank of Canada Governor Should Not Undermine Collective Bargaining
The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) calls on the Bank of Canada's Governor: Mr. Macklem, kindly stay in your lane and away from the bargaining table. While wages lag, corporate profits have surged. This is not the 1970's and the evidence doesn't point to a wage-price spiral. So why is the Bank of Canada Governor warning about wages rather than corporate profiteering? Workers and their unions have the right to bargain for fair agreements, without undue influence by powerful external forces.
