AFL-CIO affiliated Union Secretary-Treasurers met this week virtually and in Washington, DC to discuss the major issues impacting America’s labor movement.
The meeting, which was attended by IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson and chaired by AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, Fred Redmond, included reports from affiliated unions, including IFPTE, and a presentation by the AFL-CIO Technology Institute entitled, “The Future of Work”. The meeting also included an address by AFL-CIO President, Liz Shuler.
Henson commented on the meeting: “This annual gathering of Secretary-Treasurers is an opportunity for IFPTE and other AFL-CIO unions to share updates on what is happening in sectors across the workforce, and compare ideas and best practices in approaching some of the challenges facing all of us. It was a productive meeting and IFPTE thanks Secretary-Treasurer Redmond and his team for organizing it.”
