IFPTE, AALJ Meet with the Office of Personnel Management

This week, Association of Administrative Law Judges (AALJ)/IFPTE Judicial Council 1 President Judge Som Ramrup and Treasurer Judge Kim Schiro joined IFPTE President Matt Biggs and Legislative Director Faraz Khan for a meeting at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in Washington, D.C. to discuss issues impacting AALJ’s membership.

Among the issues advocated for by the AALJ and IFPTE were the proper classification of SSA National Hearings Center Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) into the AALJ bargaining unit, providing proper oversight when it comes to federal government agency hiring practices for ALJs, and seeking proper clarification as it relates to the definition of “work purposes” for compensatory time off for travel.
