This week, IFPTE engaged with House and Senate Armed Services Committees to make sure key priorities, including restoration of healthcare to DoD employees and their dependents stationed in Japan, protecting the federal civil service and merit principles, restoring veterans' preference, and allowing veterans to concurrently receive retirement and disability compensation, among other issues. Both the House and Senate Armed Services Committees have advanced their legislation out of committee. IFPTE will be working with Members of Congress to amend the NDAA to include our priorities.
