IFPTE Attends Society Hydro One Annual Council

Earlier this week, the Society of United Professionals’ (SUP/IFPTE Local 160) Hydro One Local held their annual council meeting. Strength through solidarity was the overarching theme of the council where delegates and guests in attendance celebrated their successful round of negotiations with Hydro One that wrapped last month.

IFPTE President Matt Biggs was on hand to congratulate the Local on their achievement while providing an update of IFPTE’s work taking place in Canada. IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson was also in attendance and spoke about the power of solidarity and membership engagement. Secretary Henson went on to highlight exciting initiatives that the IFPTE is working on to secure government funding geared towards workforce development. Delegates spent the remainder of the day learning about emerging workplace issues and strategizing on how to keep members organized and engaged.
