IFPTE Council of Canadian Locals Meet in Winnipeg
The Council of Canadian Locals (CCL) held its bi-annual meeting last week in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The meeting was hosted by WAPSO/IFPTE Local 162 and was attended by SUP/Local 160 President/Canadian Area Vice President, Michelle Johnston; SCMMA/Local 222 President, Greg Hippe, and Vice-President, Jazmin Evers; TEAM/Local 161 President, David Eyjolfson, and Labour Relations Officer, Gordon Lillie; Local 162 President/Canadian Area Vice President, Richard Mahe, and Executive Director, Keith Bellamy; IFPTE President, Matt Biggs; IFPTE Secretary/Treasurer, Gay Henson; and, International staff Anna Liu, Bill Fitzpatrick, and Erin Spencer. The meeting featured reports from all IFPTE Canadian Locals and a planning discussion around the scheduling and focus of the annual IFPTE legislative conference in Manitoba next year.
The day prior, President Biggs, Secretary/Treasurer Henson, CCL members, and IFPTE staff had the pleasure of attending WAPSO’s 4th annual backyard BBQ and visiting with Local 162’s Executive Board members. Melissa Dvorak, President of the Winnipeg Labour Council, was also in attendance to provide greetings and updates from the Council.
