IFPTE Endorses the Social Security 2100 Act
Connecticut Congressman and House Social Security Subcommittee Ranking Member John Larson, announced the Social Security 2100 Act this week.
The legislation, which IFPTE has been a longtime supporter of, strengthens the Social Security trust funds, expands benefits for retirees, and funds the legislation in a progressive and responsible manner.
In a press statement released by Rep. Larson’s office, IFPTE President Matt Biggs called the bill, “landmark legislation that offers a common-sense and fiscally responsible approach to making sure Social Security benefits provide meaningful economic support to Americans when they need them.”
IFPTE also sent a letter to members of the House of Representatives requesting cosponsors for the legislation ahead of its reintroduction.
