IFPTE Holds Its Fall 2023 Executive Council Meeting

IFPTE’s Executive Council met this week in San Francisco at the Union’s biannual board meeting.

The meeting was hosted by and held at the offices of IFPTE Local 21 in San Francisco.  Among the meeting highlights was the election and swearing-in of newly minted SPEEA Area IFPTE Vice President, John Dimas.  The meeting also included a presentation from Alliance for Retired Americans Executive Director, Richard Fiesta, discussions about the Federation’s budget, the legislative programs in both the United States and Canada, and updates on current and potential organizing campaigns across North America.

IFPTE President, Matt Biggs, commented, “This week’s meetings allowed both Secretary-Treasurer Henson and I to update the IFPTE board on the workings of the International, as well as gain guidance from them as we move forward toward building our union’s strength.  We thank Local 21 for hosting us, and Local 20 for also hosting our Council for their great hospitality this week.”  Secretary-Treasurer Henson also commented, noting that, “this meeting allowed all of us to come together and share the membership work and concerns from our Locals in the United States and Canada.  As we move toward the Convention next year, we are all laser-focused on building our strength for the betterment of all IFPTE members.”
