IFPTE Hosts 2022 Legislative Conference Online with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick and Rep. Elaine Luria
Over 70 Local leaders and executive council Vice Presidents attended IFPTE’s Legislative Conference. The event was hosted virtually and included remarks by Pennsylvania Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, the lead Republican cosponsor of the PRO Act and the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act, and Virginia Congresswoman Elaine Luria, a Navy veteran who has advocated for several IFPTE priorities for Navy employees, federal workers, and veterans.
IFPTE President Matt Biggs and IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson began the conference by reviewing some of the legislative accomplishments of the past year. IFPTE Legislative Director Faraz Khan discussed and reviewed the union’s legislative priorities with attendees and Brian Kildee, IFPTE Executive Assistant to Exec. Officers, shared information on advocating for union members’ priorities in Congressional districts.
