IFPTE Joins Federal-Postal Coalition's Letter to Biden Administration on Restoring the MSPB
This week, 25 organizations, including IFPTE, sent a letter urging the Biden Administration to move toward nominating board members for the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), a small but critically important federal agency that hears and decides cases impacting the jobs of millions of federal workers.
MSPB has been unable to perform their work through the whole of the previous administration. In urging the Biden administration to nominate “qualified individuals” for the board, the group also noted the impact of a nonfunctional board:
“As a result of the lack of board members, the MSPB now has a historic backlog of more than 3,000 cases, including whistleblower complaints and retaliation concerns.”
