IFPTE Meets with John Podesta on Clean Energy Investments
IFPTE President Matt Biggs, Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson, Assistant to the Executive Officers Brian Kildee, and Legislative Director Faraz Khan met this week with John Podesta, President Biden’s top adviser on clean energy technologies and investments.
The meeting took place at the White House complex and focused on IFPTE’s strong support of the Administration’s green energy and job creation initiatives, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Henson, who has worked in the energy industry for over 30 years commented,
“IFPTE was pleased to have the opportunity to meet and explain to Mr. Podesta the important link between robust government investments in clean energy technologies such as Small Modular Reactors, and the creation of tens of thousands of union represented jobs, including in STEM fields.”
Biggs also commented, saying,
“IFPTE appreciates the ongoing opportunity to work with the Administration and provide our ideas and input as a path forward in investing in clean energy technologies that will allow us to meet our carbon free goals while also investing in workers, particularly unionized workers.”
