IFPTE Mourns the Loss of Brother Jimmy Blick
IFPTE is sad to report the passing of longtime IFPTE Local 1 member and officer, Brother Jimmy Blick. Brother Blick worked several decades for the United States Navy at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was also a leader and member of IFPTE Local 1, a delegate to countless IFPTE conventions and federal caucuses, and an unapologetic unionist.
IFPTE's Secretary-Treasurer Matthew Biggs expressed his thoughts about Brother Blick's passing. "Jimmy was an asset to the Local as well as to IFPTE. He was a good Brother who always supported the union, labor and the power of workers. He will be missed."
IFPTE Local 3 president John Garrity remembered Brother Blick, saying “I remember him at the Fed Caucus, sponsored by IFPTE Local 3 several years ago in Washington, DC, where Jimmy played his guitar at night and pounded the pavement for the union on Capitol Hill during the day. He was a great public speaker and took pride in his role as a Local 1 representative. He will be missed.”
IFPTE sends out our condolences to Jimmy’s loved ones and his Local 1 family.
