IFPTE Urges Reconfirmation of Lauren McFerran for Chair of the National Labor Relations Board
This week, IFPTE asked Senators to support the confirmation of current National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Chair Lauren McFerran as well as Joshua Ditelberg, nominee for NLRB Member, in a bipartisan nominee package. McFerran’s term on the NLRB expires on December 16, 2024. IFPTE’s letter urges Senators to confirm the nominees before the end of the year.
Confirmation of McFerran for another five-year term on the NLRB is critical for ensuring that “the NLRB is fully staffed and can uphold the statutory rights of all parties fairly, reach swift resolutions for workers and employers, and issue decisions in union representation matters,” IFPTE told Senators.
The letter also cites McFerran’s career in public service, which includes serving as Labor Council for the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee during the time that Senator Tom Harkin and Senator Ted Kennedy chaired the committee. McFerran has served on the NLRB since 2014, and has been confirmed with bipartisan support twice for the NLRB.
