IFPTE Urges “Yes” Vote on House Water Resources Bill Ahead of House Passage

In anticipation of the House’s full consideration of the Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA), IFPTE sent a letter to all House lawmakers urging their support for the bill.  The bill was passed by the House on Wednesday July 8 by a vote of 384 to 37.

While IFPTE expressed disappointment with the absence of key priorities impacting IFPTE represented members, including language to halt implementation of remote offsite lock and dam operations as well as designating all Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers as inherently governmental, IFPTE wrote that WRDA “lprovides critical resources for maintaining, modernizing, and improving our nations’ waterways.”

IFPTE also informed Representatives and House Leadership that the union will continue to work with Members of Congress to advance key concerns that are not addressed in WRDA.
