IFPTE's NJ Unions Attend New Jersey AFL-CIO Legislative COPE Endorsement Conference

IFPTE Local unions in New Jersey attended the NJ AFL-CIO Legislative COPE Endorsement Conference in Atlantic City. Representatives from Locals 18, 193, 195, 196, and 200 were in attendance.

Delegates voted to endorse candidates as elected officials throughout the state for the November 7 general election. Forty-nine of the endorsed were labor candidates for local elected offices.

National AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond and Governor Phil Murphy served as keynote speakers over the 2 day conference.

Long-time labor leader and Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin, who is retiring, was celebrated for his fifty-plus years of commitment to the labor movement.

Information regarding AI (Artificial Intelligence) and its impact on the workforce was provided from the AFL-CIO’s Technology Institute.
