Local 12 President, Tiera Beauchamp, Named to Path to Power Program
(l-r) Tiera Beauchamp, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10), Kathy Osmanson, and Craig Kantorowski (Local 12 lobbying) during Legislative Week to improve working conditions for working professionals at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and their detachments.
The Washington State AFL-CIO released the names last week of the Union members who have been accepted into their highly competitive Path to Power program, and IFPTE Local 12 President, Tiera Beauchamp, was among those who were accepted.
Tiera, who has served as Local 12’s president for nearly 5 years, commented on her participation in the program, saying, “It is a great honor to be representing the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as their president at the AFL-CIO level. I feel blessed to have this training opportunity to learn about running for political offices that have an impact on legislation that affects our working families. It is my passion to be the voice of the people; advocating for their rights and freedoms in our country. I am extremely humbled and determined to create positive change in our communities in this capacity. ”
The Path to Power program is intended to ensure that Union principals are represented at all levels of government by giving Union members the training and information necessary to learn how to run for political office. Congratulations Tiera!
Tiera Beauchamp is honored by IFPTE’s executive officers, Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson and President Matt Biggs, at IFPTE’s 2025 Legislative Advocacy Conference.
