National Hispanic Heritage Month Kicks-Off

September 15 marked the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and IFPTE joins in celebrating the achievements, contributions and culture of Hispanic Americans. President Biden issued a proclamation for the occasion, in which he stated "Our future will be shaped by Hispanic engineers who are working to develop new technology that will help us grasp our clean energy future and by the skilled union workers who are going to build it." For IFPTE members who would like to help educate the next generation of union leaders, the National Portrait Gallery will be holding a virtual event about labor icons Dolores Huerta and César Chávez on October 6. More information about that program is here.
