NJCSA 21 Takes Their Case to Capitol Hill – Demands “Respect” for Newark Public Servants

IFPTE NJCSA 21 President, Sean Small, along with IFPTE national officers and staff met this week with the Washington, DC office staff of New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.

The meeting comes on the heels of President Small’s testimony last week before the Newark City Council urging the city’s lawmakers to recognize the service and contributions of all of Newark’s workers, including the nearly 1,000 workers represented by IFPTE NJCSA 21.

Atlantic Area Vice President, Sean McBride, who also attended the meeting commented that, “it is important that Senator Booker, who is the former Mayor of Newark and a staunch supporter of workers, leverage his position in the United States Senate to convince Newark’s current Mayor to do what’s right by these workers. The time is now for Newark to refrain from stonewalling these workers and their union.”
