OFL Injured Workers Day Online Rally
The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) will be holding an online rally on June 1 from 11:00am - 1:00pm to recognize Injured Workers Day. Since 1983, the OFL has commemorated this day with a gathering to celebrate our collective strength and push for a better future. Register here to join the event.
Ontario’s health and safety and workers compensation systems are broken. Coronavirus has not created these problems, but it has brought them clearly info focus, and we cannot go back to how things were. This June 1st, we can stand together to look towards the future.
We know what is needed to fix the system.
Workers MUST be protected on the job.
Those who do get sick MUST be covered by workers compensation without hassle or delay, and
The compensation board MUST end their harmful practice of deeming, or pretending injured workers have jobs that they do not in fact have and cutting the benefits.
As Ontario begins to open up, the government and the compensation board needs to know – we don’t want to go back to normal. Normal is not good enough.
This injured workers day, it is time to create meaningful change to keep workers safe, and to show once and for all that WORKERS COMP IS A RIGHT.
Join the Ontario Network of Injured Workers Groups and our allies for an online rally featuring stories, speeches, and messages of hope and struggle.
