ORGANIZING ALERT: IFPTE Local 196 Wins Card Check Recognition for Long Branch Housing Authority Workers

This week IFPTE Local 196 continued to build its ranks by winning card-check recognition for workers at the Long Branch Housing Authority. This latest win comes on top of successful organizing campaigns earlier this year with workers at the Asbury Park Housing Authority and at the South Jersey Transportation Authority.

IFPTE Local 196 President/Atlantic Area Vice President Sean McBride commented that, “Local 196 welcomes into the IFPTE family the workers at the Long Branch Housing Authority. Like we do with all of our members, we will work diligently toward achieving a solid contract that results in competitive pay raises and preserves pension and health benefits. It is critical that Local 196, and indeed all of IFPTE, remain focused on growing our union because, as we all know, there is strength in numbers. We welcome these workers to our Local.”
