Personal Safety, Awareness and COVID-19 (WSN Spotlight)

Personal safety is paramount in the current pandemic crisis we’re in. The Women’s Solidarity Network (WSN) is spotlighting an interactive webinar organized by the Women's Initiatives for Safer Environments on how you can be proactive with your personal safety during COVID-19.

Many women, especially those who are at home more as a result of the pandemic, may feel isolated. Being out of touch with loved ones and their support network, it can be difficult to reach out to get info and support about personal safety and awareness.

This webinar presentation scheduled for August 24 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT will be facilitated by Elsy David, who has over 25 years working in the field of violence against women. You will learn the basic concepts of awareness and safety, different tools and resources you can use to improve your personal safety and a discussion about the links between awareness, relationships and safety.

The rising rates of violence against women during COVID-19 is alarming. The WSN spotlighted the issue a few weeks earlier. This webinar may be a good resource for those interested in learning more about this topic.
