Shearon Speaks with Senators Cardin, Van Hollen Regarding Federal Workers Impacted by COVID-19

IFPTE President Paul Shearon participated in a conference call today organized by Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen regarding the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on federal workers across the nation. 

The call, which NFFE, AFGE, IAFF, and other labor unions also participated in, served as a means for the Senators to hear from the unions as to the challenges that federal workers are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ideas for legislative relief to address these issues in the next COVID relief bill.

Among the issues discussed were providing for hazardous duty pay, PPE for workers on the front lines, and mandatory telework for workers, among many other issues.
