The evening featured vibrant cultural performances and speeches from distinguished guests, including Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, NDP Federal Leader Jagmeet Singh, Canadian Labour Congress Secretary-Treasurer Lily Chang, and Ontario Federation of Labour Executive Vice-President Jackie Taylor. Speakers extended warm wishes for good health and prosperity while addressing pressing issues affecting workers, such as the Ontario provincial election and the potential impact of impending U.S. tariffs under President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

With over 400 union members, labour activists, and community allies in attendance, the event served as a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from unity. As workers face ongoing challenges, gatherings like this highlight the vital role of cultural communities in shaping the broader labour movement and advocating for workers’ rights. The Society remains committed to supporting initiatives that celebrate diversity and promote equity in the workplace and beyond.
