SPEEA Holds 2021 Leadership Conference

SPEEA-Local 2001 hosted its annual leadership conference on Saturday, June 12th. The conference, under the theme “Uniting for a Better Future”, was held virtually and attended by more than 100 elected council representatives.

The conference featured workshops on organizing, communications and labor history. Among the highlights of the conference was a keynote address by House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith, who represents Washington State’s 9th Congressional District.

Along with SPEEA staff, IFPTE organizing staff also participated in the conference, along with President Paul Shearon and Secretary-Treasurer Matthew Biggs who both addressed participants.
