TEAM Holds Annual General Meeting
TEAM/IFPTE Local 161 held their annual general meeting earlier this week. There were over 100 members and guests who attended the meeting in person and virtually. TEAM celebrated their new collective agreement they recently ratified by reminding members of the important changes to the contract. Members were also notified that TEAM Board of Directors’ elections are in process. Current TEAM President, Mike Taylor, will not be seeking re-election and he encouraged everyone in attendance to get involved in union activities to keep TEAM strong.
IFPTE President Matt Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson brought greetings to everyone virtually. President Biggs thanked Mike Taylor for his leadership and service to our union. He also touched on the work taking place in Canada, highlighting the Council of Canadian Locals meeting that occurred in Winnipeg several months ago and the upcoming IFPTE Manitoba Legislative Conference that will be taking place in January 2023. Secretary-Treasurer Henson provided a report on the federation’s activities and areas of priority, emphasizing the need to engage members and the opportunities that lay ahead.
