Uyeunten Re-Elected to Hawaii State AFL-CIO Executive Board’s Vice Council

IFPTE Local 121 President/Eastern Federal Area Vice President, Jamie Uyeunten, was re-elected to serve on the Hawaii State AFL-CIO executive board’s vice council. 

Sister Uyeunten represents more than 3,000 technical and professional bargaining unit members comprised of nine (9) units in seven (7) different agencies in Hawaii and elsewhere in the United States and is a longtime leading voice in support of federal workers in Hawaii and throughout the nation. This latest two-year term will be Uyeunten’s fourth as Vice President of the State Federation. 

Jamie commented on her election, saying “serving on the Hawaii State AFL-CIO board is both an honor and an opportunity to work in Solidarity with the entirety of Hawaii’s labor movement on issues of importance to working families.  We are proud that our state is the most union-dense in the nation, and in addition to representing our current members, we are also focused on continuing to grow our numbers.“
