Parents know that Canada was facing a child care crisis even before COVID-19 hit. The pandemic has made their struggles more stark.
In March, schools and child care centres shut down as part of a collective effort to flatten the curve. Parents made do. Now, months later, with a new school year about to start in September, working parents are bracing for the worst.
This week the Women's Solidarity Network is spotlighting a webinar discussion hosted by the Canadian Labour Congress. The conversation will focus on the challenges that lie ahead and what this all means for gender equality and women’s participation in the labour market.
