WSN’s Gender Pay Gap Webinar a Success!

The IFPTE Women’s Solidarity Network (WSN) held their 6th Women & Unions International Speaker Series on April 29. IFPTE members from Canada and the US took part in a webinar discussion focused on the gender pay gap. Featured speaker, Fay Faraday, from the Equal Pay Coalition gave participants an overview of the pay gap from an intersectional perspective, exploring the causes of it despite existing legislation that prohibits pay discrimination, and highlighted what steps can be taken to address and close the gap. The session was moderated by Judge Mimi Tsankov, Vice President, Eastern Region of the National Association of Immigration Judges/IFPTE Judicial Council 2, who framed the discussion, linking the work undertaken at NAIJ, and facilitated the engagement of participants.
