Association of Administrative Law Judges Advocate on Capitol Hill with IFPTE Staff

AALJ/IFPTE Judicial Council 1 President Judge Som Ramrup and Secretary Judge Kimberly Schiro were joined on Capitol Hill this week by IFPTE Legislative Director Faraz Khan. The AALJ’s were on the Hill to meet with key lawmakers on several issues of importance impacting the AALJ membership, including supporting policies that protect ALJ judicial independence and claimant due process rights, advocating for robust funding for the Social Security Administration, and properly classifying National Hearings Center ALJs into the AALJ bargaining unit, which is supported by President Biden’s Worker Organizing and Empowerment Task Force recommendations.
