City of Saskatoon and SCMMA Local 222 Tackling COVID-19

On Wednesday, March 18, the City of Saskatoon sent out a communication to all city staff encouraging them to do everything they can to stop the spread of COVID-19. This was on the same day that the province of Saskatchewan declared a State of Emergency in response to the pandemic.

“There were basically two questions asked, can you do your job from home? Yes, stay home. No, come in, but follow protocols” said SCMMA Local 222 president Jackie Morley. Local 222 has been advised that working from home protocols will be in effect as of Saturday, March 21. Local 222 officers will be available remotely to their membership during this difficult time.
