Eleven Years Later, IFPTE Continues to Remember the Tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School
December 14 marked the 11th anniversary of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where 26 young children and teachers were tragically killed, including paraeducator Anne Marie Murphy, who was a proud member of IFPTE Local 136-13.
As we mark the tragic anniversary, IFPTE President Matt Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson issued the following statement on behalf of IFPTE. “The IFPTE family will not forget the tragic day of December 14, 2012, where young children and their teachers, including our Union Sister, Anne Marie Murphy, were tragically killed during the school day at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Each year as we remember this day, we will also continue to celebrate their lives and mourn for their families.”
