The GAO Employees Organization/IFPTE Local 1921, held its annual membership meeting on Tuesday, November 16th. The main speaker was IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson, who reported on IFPTE's recent work dealing with federal workers' issues and IFPTE's recent virtual Convention in August.
Jose Ramos, Local 1921 President, along with the other officers of their Local went over recent successes and challenges within their agency, as well as the financial health of their Local. One exciting development, the Local is working to develop a page on their website for new employees, which they will receive after a union rep has introduced themselves as a way to provide important information relevant to their concerns and issues. In addition, the Local recently published their latest Fall newsletter, which includes interviews about some of their victories to highlight the benefits of being organized as a union.
