IFPTE Applauds 7.4% Federal Pay Raise Called for in the FAIR Act
Congressman Gerry Connolly (D, VA) and Senator Brian Schatz (D, HI) introduced identical House and Senate versions of the Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act this week calling on Congress to approve a 7.4% pay raise for federal workers.
IFPTE, which endorsed the legislation, applauded its introduction: IFPTE President, Matt Biggs, said “our union thanks both Congressman Connolly and Senator Schatz for stepping up strong in support of a robust federal pay raise.” Secretary-Treasurer Henson called the bill “much-needed legislation to make up for past pay raises under anti-federal worker administrations that didn’t even keep up with inflation.” Legislative Director, Faraz Khan, rounded out the comments, noting that “Congressman Connolly and Senator Schatz are two of the leading supporters for federal workers in the Congress and this legislation is the latest in many legislative efforts to recognize their great work and sacrifices made for the American public.”
