IFPTE Attends Department of Labor Holiday Gathering

IFPTE President, Matt Biggs; Secretary-Treasurer, Gay Henson; Legislative Director, Faraz Khan, and; Assistant to the Executive Officers, Brian Kildee, attended a holiday gathering this week in Washington, DC with colleagues and top federal officials tasked with moving forward President Biden’s pro-worker, pro-union agenda.

Among the officials that IFPTE spoke with was Acting Labor Secretary, Julie Su, who continues to await full nomination by the United States Senate.  Secretary-Treasurer Henson commented that, “while this was a holiday gathering, it nonetheless provided us another opportunity to speak with Secretary Su and her senior staff about some of IFPTE’s key legislative and policy priorities.” President Biggs noted that, “Secretary Su is a champion of working families and their unions, and we thanked her for her support on that score, as well for her direct intervention in the Kaiser-Permanent labor negotiations back in October that resulted in a historic contract for workers, including those represented by ESC/IFPTE Local 20.”

IFPTE continues to support Secretary Su’s confirmation!
