Brother Rich Plunkett Named to Aerospace Supply Chain Resiliency (ASCR) Task Force
SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001’s director of strategic development, Rich Plunkett, was named to the United States Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Aerospace Supply Chain Resilience (ASCR) task force this week.
The ASCR Task Force was created as a result of Section 106 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, to, “Identify and assess risks to United States aerospace supply chains, including the availability of raw materials and critical manufactured goods, with respect to major end items produced by the aerospace industry; and the infrastructure of the National Airspace System; and identify best practices and make recommendations to mitigate those risks and support a robust United States aerospace supply chain.”
Plunkett, who also served on the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Organization Designation Authorization Expert Panel in 2022 and 2023, commented: “I look forward to working with the DOT and my colleagues on the ASCR Task Force to identify both current and future challenges with aerospace industry supply chains and ever-evolving technologies, and do so from the perspective workers in the industry.”
