IFPTE Demands 8.7% Raise for Federal Civilian Workers

IFPTE joined the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) members from across the nation this week in calling on Congress to pass the Federal Adjustments of Income Rates (FAIR) Act granting the nation’s over 2 million federal workers a 8.7% pay raise.

IFPTE President Matt Biggs addressed members at the AFGE-led rally, saying, “IFPTE members are proud to stand in Solidarity with AFGE and the entire labor movement in demanding that Congress make up for countless pay freezes and meager pay raises of the past by passing a civilian pay raise this year that is truly reflective of the extraordinary services that our federal workers provide to the public each and every day.”

AFGE President Everett Kelly led the rally and was also joined there by National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) president, Randy Erwin; AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond; and Senators Cory Booker, Mazie Hirono and Ben Cardin.
