IFPTE Helps White House Kick Off Holiday Season
Members of IFPTE were represented at yesterday's White House tree lighting ceremony by Daniel Perez, Vice President for Organizing of the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU/IFPTE Local 70). Brother Perez and other attendees were treated to a star-studded musical performance that included the great Patti LaBelle.
"We have much to celebrate this year as we work with the Biden administration to advance the most pro-worker, pro-union agenda in a generation," Brother Perez said. "As an employee of the Economic Policy Institute and member of NPEU, it is exciting to see the work of my fellow NPEU members being put into action to help our economy and provide unprecedented opportunities for working families."
IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson commended the leadership and energy that Brother Perez and his fellow NPEU members have provided IFPTE, saying, "This is a Local union that is aggressive, innovative and is bringing trade unionism to a whole new sector of the American workforce. We are strengthened as an International and as a movement by leaders like Brother Perez and his fellow NPEU members who have chosen careers dedicated to the betterment of others."
