SPEEA Communications Team Wins ILCA Awards

Winners in the 2021 International Labor Communicators Awards (ILCA) include SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001 Publications Editor Karen McLean and Graphic & Web Designer Lori Dupuis. The awards are all in the "National" category which puts SPEEA in competition with the largest labor unions in the U.S. 

Karen received First Place in the prestigious Saul Miller, political action competition, for her article; "Members to lawmakers: Close the loophole on Paid Family and Medical Leave." She also received an Honorable Mention for; "Member volunteers for air rescue to ‘give back.’' 

Lori received an Honorable Member for the photo package; "Good of 2020."

Said IFPTE President Matt Biggs, “This is a great and well-deserved honor. I have known and worked with Karen and Lori over the years and am very happy to see them being recognized for their work.” 

The awards will be officially presented during the ILCA Virtual Convention on Thursday, Dec. 9.
