IFPTE Honors Senator Dianne Feinstein's Lifetime of Service

WASHINGTON, DC – The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), representing 90,000 workers throughout North America, issued the following statement in response to the passing of California Senator, Dianne Feinstein:

“Today we join the people of California and workers all across the country in mourning the loss of one of labor’s most effective allies in the Senate, Dianne Feinstein.  Throughout her long and distinguished career, Feinstein remained dedicated to the principles that first inspired her to run for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1969.  Her absence leaves a void in the Senate at a critical time for our government and our nation.”

Throughout her career, her example of steadfastness and her focus on the serious work of governing stood as an example for everyone serving in elective office.  Among her many accomplishments, that example will endure long after the people of California gather to honor her today.”

Across the United States and Canada, IFPTE represents 90,000 highly skilled workers in the federal, public, and private sectors. IFPTE is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress.
