IFPTE Local 196 Achieves Historic Contracts for Public Sector Workers Across New Jersey

This week Local 196 announced major wins for their members at the bargaining table.

Sean McBride, Local 196 President/IFPTE Atlantic Area Vice President, informed the International that members employed by the Garden State Parkway, achieved a 3.5% raise per year over the next four years, along with a 3% increase for workers whose salaries have been capped.   Not to be outdone, Local 196 Business Manager, Jimmy Robertello, successfully negotiated a first contract with Rumson City and the Monmouth County park ranger supervisors, as well as with the Monmouth County supervisors.  All contracts saw historic wage and benefit increases.

McBride commented on the victories:  “Local 196 is proud to represent these dedicated public servants all across New Jersey, and, along with Brother Jimmy Robertello, went to the bargaining table prepared to procure contract wins for our members that are worthy of their service to the public.   We are particularly proud of the compensation wins in the contracts, as well as our efforts to start bringing previously privatized work back into the public sector.  We are continuing to negotiate other contracts and remain committed to bargain wins for Local 196 members, and all IFPTE members in New Jersey.”

Congratulations Local 196!
