IFPTE Local 98 Holds First Membership Meeting of 2024, Swears-In New Officers
IFPTE Local 98, representing Army Corps of Engineers employees in the New York District and North Atlantic Division Office, held their first membership meeting of 2024 this week.
The meeting featured discussions for the priorities of the Local in the year ahead, including growing their ranks through internal organizing. The meeting also saw the swearing-in of recently elected officers Chris Dols (President); Christina Vila (District VP); John O'Connor (NAD VP); Niall McMahon (Recording Secretary); Rito Sabanal (Treasurer); Matthew Voisine (1st Trustee); Sophie Killy (2nd Trustee); Chris Ricciardi (3rd Trustee); and all the Local’s new Term Stewards: Paul Fitzpatrick, Kailey Loughran, Roy Loftfield, Naomi Handell, Anika Dwyer, Chris Gallo, Hector Mosley, and Keith Gottberg.
Dols commented that “with this meeting, Local 98 is launching an aggressive recruitment drive to lay the groundwork for critical CBA negotiations. Our top goal for these negotiations is to activate our growing membership to lock in extensive telework flexibilities for the long haul." The elected officers were sworn in by IFPTE International President, Matt Biggs, who participated in the meeting virtually.
