IFPTE Provides Statement for the Record in Support of Federal Telework
In anticipation of a March 9th hearing in the House Oversight and Accountability Committee to provide oversight of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), IFPTE provided a detailed statement to Committee lawmakers in support of OPM’s federal worker telework policy. The hearing, titled “Oversight of Our Nation’s Largest Employer: Reviewing the U.S. Office of Personnel Management”, lived up to its billing in focusing on the use of telework across federal government agencies.
IFPTE, which continues to work with Congress in explaining the many benefits of federal telework, provided concrete examples from many IFPTE Locals — 121, 29, 28, 98, 777, JC1, JC2 — to the increased services provided to taxpayers by federal workers who telework. Read the full IFPTE statement, which was made a part of the committee’s official record, here, and see the hearing here.
