IFPTE Urges Congress to Approve Federal Employee Emergency Paid Sick Leave
IFPTE joined the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), and the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) in calling on Congress to include 15 weeks of emergency paid sick leave to all federal and postal workers. The letter, which was sent to House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair Carolyn Maloney, noted that the previous leave allotted to federal employees as a result of past COVID relief legislation “expired on December 31, 2020, but the need for the leave has grown as the virus continues to spread…”.
