Local 777 Wins Grievance, USACE Revises Guidance

Local 777 won a grievance recently, getting the US Army Corps of Engineers to revise its nationwide guidance that prohibited workers from using personal pronouns in correspondence, including emails. This was illegal because of a law (10 U.S.C. §986) that says the Department of Defense cannot prohibit or require pronoun use. The members of Local 777 believe in the right of workers (not just in Chicago District) to follow their conscience in this matter, and are proud to have won this national change. Never underestimate the power of filing a good grievance! Outstanding success for Local 777!
