Secretary-Treasurer Henson Attends DOL Signing Ceremony for Interagency MOU Supporting Good Jobs
Secretary-Treasurer Henson, along with Brian Kildee, IFPTE Assistant to the Executive Officers, attended an event at the United States Department of Labor (DOL) last week that further solidified the Biden Administration’s commitment to working families.
The event, which was a signing ceremony in which the U.S. Department of Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the DOL committing that workers rights, including the right to organize, are a priority for any contractors receiving federal government, taxpayer funded monies.
Henson, who is a longtime federal employee and union leader, commented that, “it is critical that agencies across the federal government live up to the commitment that President Biden has made in protecting the rights of workers, and this certainly includes government contractors.”
