SPEEA area rep, Norm Chow, joined more than 100 SPEEA members and officers to support striking IAM members along the Duwamish Corridor.

As the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) enter their third week on strike against the Boeing Company, SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001 leaders and members, along with former IFPTE president, Paul Shearon (a decades-long SPEEA member and former Boeing employee himself), joined striking Union Sisters and Brothers from the IAM on the picket lines in Washington state.

Along with the Solidarity on the line came a strong statement in support of the IAMAW from SPEEA, with SPEEA president/IFPTE SPEEA area vice president, John Dimas, urging members to, “encourage members of our union to continue supporting the Machinists, and in particular to volunteer to spend time during your off-work hours standing on picket lines alongside them.” SPEEA executive director, Ray Goforth, said, “Boeing should give the IAM a contract offer that reflects the value they generate for the company so everyone can get back to building airplanes.”
