SPEEA, Local 2001 Holds Boeing’s Feet to the Fire – Calls on Aerospace Giant to Halt Operations in Russia
While more than 400 U.S. companies have stopped and removed operations in Russia, The Boeing Company has thus far only announced “suspension” of work in Moscow and elsewhere in Russia. Moreover, the Boeing website continue to list its Russian facilities and operations and refers to its Moscow Design Center.
In response, SPEEA, IFPTE Local 2001, representing 17,000 aerospace workers at Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, is calling on The Boeing Company to do what 400 companies have already done – stop and remove their operation from Russia altogether.
In a statement released on September 28th, SPEEA specifically calls on Boeing to, “cease all operations in Russia and start the permanent transfer of that work to other locations.”
