SUP Participates in CLC Lobby Week in Ottawa

The Society of Union Professionals (SUP/IFPTE Local 160) and Canadian Area Vice President, Michelle Johnston and External Relations Director, Mike Belmore, joined unions from across Canada to meet with national lawmakers on Parliament Hill Ottawa this week.

The lobby week was organized by the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and gave hundreds of union members an opportunity to urge lawmakers to adopt policies to support unionized jobs that help both our environment and communities; protect and strengthen public healthcare, and; pass legislation to protect worker pensions.  President Johnston commented that, "this week was an opportunity for the Society to join in Solidarity with our union Sisters and Brothers in advocating for issues impacting all workers and retirees. We will continue to hold our federal and provincial lawmakers accountable moving forward."
